Clearlight sauna review: Sanctuary, Premier, Outdoor and the Curve dome, compared on specs and terms
11 saunas: 7 infrared saunas, 2 outdoor saunas, 1 sauna blanket and 1 red light sauna, $1,599 to $9,699 (published for 9 of 11). Clearlight's strongest card is the warranty: lifetime on every cabin for home use, where Sunlighten gives 7 years. The Sanctuary line is full spectrum; the Premier is far infrared and cheaper, and three Clearlight cabins plug into an ordinary 15 A outlet. Clearlight's two-seaters are the far-infrared Clearlight Premier IS-2 Far Infrared at $5,999 and the full-spectrum Clearlight Sanctuary 2 Full Spectrum + Red Light Therapy at $7,499. There's no store link for Clearlight cabins on this site; the closest two-seater that has one is the Sun Home Equinox 2-Person at $6,099, with 7 years on the cabin instead of lifetime and a 20 A circuit instead of a regular outlet.
Two things to know first. Every price here is a sale price the brand dates to October 13, 2026, so check it on the day. And a return is expensive: Clearlight keeps 25% and you pay the shipping both ways, so on a $7,499 cabin the fee alone is $1,875. Clearlight also publishes no top temperature for any cabin.

The Sanctuary 5 is named for five but the page says it "fits up to 4 adults". The Sanctuary C is a corner cabin, and the Retreat is built for wheelchair access, with a 60-inch turning space, removable benches and a ramp. Mahogany costs more than the Basswood prices shown. A Premier IS-3 is sold too but isn't in our database yet.
Sanctuary vs Premier
Both lines use Clearlight's "True Wave" carbon heaters for far infrared on the back and side walls, by the calves and under the floor. The Sanctuary adds full-spectrum emitters, 500 W each, on the front wall: two in most models, four in the Sanctuary 5. Those cover near and mid infrared as well. The Premier has no full-spectrum emitters and costs less: the IS-2 is $1,500 under the Sanctuary 2 at today's prices.
The interiors are close. The Clearlight Premier IS-2 Far Infrared is 45 × 40 × 71 inches inside; the Clearlight Sanctuary 2 Full Spectrum + Red Light Therapy is 46.5 × 44.25 × 72.5. Whether you want the extra bands is the real question, and full-spectrum saunas explains what they are.
Plug-in or new circuit?
This is where Clearlight differs most from Sunlighten. The Clearlight Premier IS-1 Far Infrared, Clearlight Premier IS-2 Far Infrared and Clearlight Sanctuary 1 Full Spectrum plug into a standard household outlet (NEMA 5-15P): 1,370 to 1,740 W. The Clearlight Sanctuary 2 Full Spectrum + Red Light Therapy draws 2,260 W and needs a 20 A outlet (NEMA 5-20P). The Sanctuary 3, 5, C, Retreat and both outdoor models run on 240 V.
A cabin on a 15 A outlet still shouldn't share that circuit with much else. Have a licensed electrician check before delivery, and for the 240 V models, budget for the new circuit.
Clearlight with red light
The Clearlight Sanctuary 2 Full Spectrum + Red Light Therapy can be ordered with a CORE red light tower on the door for $1,599 more. The tower has its own 5-year warranty, not the cabin's lifetime one. Clearlight lists 650 and 850 nm for the tower but no LED count or output, so it can't be compared with a standalone panel on numbers. Other cabins with red light built in are on red light saunas.
Clearlight outdoor saunas
The Clearlight Sanctuary Outdoor 2 Infrared Sauna and Clearlight Sanctuary Outdoor 5 Infrared Sauna are Sanctuary cabins built for outside, with a mahogany interior and a coated exterior. Clearlight doesn't list a price for either; both go through a quote. They ship free on a pallet with a lift gate and scheduled delivery, and both need 240 V. With the canopy, the Outdoor 5 is 101.25 inches wide. Compare them with priced outdoor cabins on outdoor infrared saunas.
The Curve dome
The Clearlight The Curve Far Infrared Sauna Dome + Amethyst Infrared PEMF Mat is Clearlight's lie-down option: a far-infrared dome over an amethyst PEMF mat, $1,599 on sale ($2,899 regular). It draws 1,000 W from a 120 V outlet, lists a range up to 153°F, and carries a 7-year warranty for home use: the same as the Sunlighten Solo, against one year on the HigherDOSE, Bon Charge and Sun Home blankets. Clearlight doesn't list the dome's own dimensions. Domes and blankets are compared on portable saunas.
Price, warranty and returns
Prices on Clearlight's price list run $5,199 to $9,699 for the indoor cabins, all marked as a sale ending October 13, 2026; the regular prices are $400 to $800 higher. The warranty on every cabin is lifetime for residential use, and the page for the Sanctuary 5 calls it a "True Lifetime Warranty (Residential)".
The return policy (infraredsauna.com) gives you 30 business days from receipt. The sauna has to be like new and in its original packaging, Clearlight keeps a 25% restocking fee, and you pay both the return shipping and the original shipping. Measure the room and the doorways before you order; that's the cheapest way to avoid the fee.
EMF and FDA
Clearlight says its heaters are "Low EMF/ELF" and that its design cancels out both, but publishes no milligauss figure or distance for any model. I haven't found an independent measurement, so it's not independently measured.
No Clearlight sauna appears in the FDA's registration or 510(k) databases, and the brand doesn't claim otherwise: its footer calls its products "General Wellness products" and disclaims any medical use.
Clearlight vs Sunlighten vs Sun Home

|---|---|---|---|
| Prices published | 9 of 11 models | 2 of 11 | 12 of 12 |
| Cabin warranty | Lifetime (residential) | 7 years | Equinox 7 years; Eclipse, Pod, Luminar: lifetime on the product page, 1 year on the warranty page |
| Return | Like new, 30 business days; 25% restocking, buyer pays shipping both ways | Unopened only; $499 restocking + 3% + freight | Unopened only; 25% restocking + freight both ways |
| EMF figure | None published | One model: under 1 mG, no distance | 0.5 mG on some models, no distance |
| Standard 15 A outlet | Premier IS-1, IS-2, Sanctuary 1 | None | None |
Clearlight is the one of the three that lets you plug a two-seat cabin into a regular outlet and gives a lifetime warranty on all of its cabins. Sunlighten has more detailed spec sheets and the separate infrared bands of the mPulse, but you can't see most prices or return an opened sauna. Sun Home publishes every price, but its warranty terms contradict each other.
Questions people ask
How much is a Clearlight infrared sauna?
$5,199 for the Premier IS-1 to $9,699 for the Sanctuary Retreat, in Basswood, checked Oct 6, 2026. These are sale prices to October 13, 2026. The Curve dome is $1,599; the outdoor models are priced by quote.
Can you use a far infrared sauna daily?
Clearlight suggests starting at 10–15 minutes and settling at 20–30, three to four times a week. In research, daily sessions show up in study protocols: two weeks of daily far-infrared sauna in 25 men with heart-disease risk factors (Imamura, 2001), and five sessions a week for two to four weeks in studies of patients with heart failure (Källström, 2018 review). Those are study protocols, not advice; see our medical disclaimer.
Which is healthier, steam or infrared sauna?
I haven't found a study that compares the two head to head on health outcomes. How each works is on infrared saunas and steam saunas.
