Sun Home saunas review: Equinox, Eclipse, Pod and Luminar compared, and how they stack up to Sunlighten
12 saunas: 6 infrared saunas, 1 dry sauna, 1 outdoor sauna, 1 sauna blanket and 3 red light saunas, $499 to $15,799. Sun Home does what Sunlighten doesn't: it puts a price on every model, $4,999 to $15,799 for the cabins during the sale I checked. The Equinox is its full-spectrum indoor cabin; the Eclipse and the Pod add red light panels; the Luminar is an outdoor cabin for five. For two people indoors, the Sun Home Equinox 2-Person at $6,099 is the one I'd look at first: 7-year warranty, 120 V on a 20 A circuit.
Read two things before buying. The warranty on the Eclipse, Pod and Luminar is "Limited Lifetime" on the product pages but 1 year on Sun Home's own warranty page, and I couldn't get the live warranty page to load to settle it. And a sauna comes back only unopened, with 25% kept plus freight both ways.

The Solstice line is the far-infrared-only indoor cabin, 8 to 10 carbon heaters at 500 W each, $4,999 to $7,799 for one to four seats; the three smaller sizes run on 120 V, the Solstice 4 needs 240 V. The Sun Home Nova 6-Person Indoor Traditional Sauna is a traditional sauna with a HUUM DROP heater to 230°F on a 240 V, 40 A circuit. For both lines the specs come from archived copies of Sun Home's pages, because the live pages wouldn't load when I checked; the prices are the store's own on Oct 8, 2026. Sun Home also sells an Eclipse for four people, a two-person Luminar and a Nova for three, which aren't in our database yet. The Luminar's red light is a separate add-on tower for $1,699, listed here as the Luminar with red light.
Equinox: the full-spectrum indoor cabin
The Sun Home Equinox 2-Person has 4 far infrared + 2 full spectrum heaters; the Sun Home Equinox 3-Person has 5 far infrared + 2 full spectrum heaters. Both are kiln-dried eucalyptus, list a top temperature of 165°F, and need a dedicated 120 V 20 A circuit with GFCI protection. The two-seater is 50.9 in wide with a 45 in bench, the three-seater 62.3 in wide with a 57 in bench; Sun Home says depth and height are the same. The product page doesn't list the wattage; the spec sheet has the full figures.
The Equinox has a clear 7-year warranty on both the product page and the warranty page; the archived Solstice pages state the same 7 years. The warranty page calls it a "limited lifetime residential warranty (7 years)", which is a strange phrase, but the 7 is the number to count on. Today's prices are $6,099 and $6,999, down from $6,799 and $7,699.
Eclipse and Pod: red light in the cabin
The Sun Home Eclipse 2-Person combines 6 far infrared (walls, calves, floor) + 2 full spectrum on back wall + 2 red light panels. Sun Home's blog counts 360 LEDs in the two towers. The wavelengths don't match between pages: the product page says 650 and 850 nm, the blog says 660 and 850. Neither gives the output, so the panels can't be compared with a standalone red light panel on numbers.
The Sun Home Pod 1-Person is the one-person version: 10 far infrared (walls, floor, seat, calves) + 1 red light panel, with no wavelengths or output published for the panel. More red light cabins are on red light saunas.
Luminar: the outdoor cabin
The Sun Home Luminar 5 is an outdoor cabin with a Canadian red cedar interior and an aluminum shell. It has full spectrum + far infrared, lists 170°F, and needs 240 V on a 30 A circuit with a NEMA L6-30P plug. It ships free as a pallet left at the curb; getting 1,070 lb of parts to the backyard is on you. Sun Home says it heats up in 15–20 minutes, and an hour or more below 40°F.
Its user manual asks for a level, dry base that can carry 1,270 pounds and at least 8 inches of clearance behind and beside the cabin, 12 above. The red light tower is an extra $1,699. Other outdoor infrared cabins are compared on outdoor infrared saunas.
Sun Home sauna blanket
The Sun Home Infrared Sauna Blanket costs $499 with a 1-year warranty. Sun Home lists 0.4 mG EMF without a distance, and no top temperature or power draw. It can be returned within 30 days if it's like new in its packaging. Other blankets are on sauna blankets.
Wiring and installation
No Sun Home cabin uses a standard 15 A outlet. The Pod and both Equinox models need a dedicated 120 V 20 A circuit with GFCI. The Sun Home Eclipse 2-Person is the unusual one: 2,820 W at 120 V on a 30 A circuit with GFCI and a twist-lock NEMA L5-30 outlet, which most houses don't have. The Luminar needs 240 V, 30 A. Get a licensed electrician's quote before you order, and for the Luminar, ask your local building department whether you need a permit.
Warranty, returns and cancellation
Warranty. The Equinox has 7 years. For the Eclipse, Pod and Luminar, the product pages say "Limited Lifetime", while Sun Home's warranty page, as archived on January 20, 2026, says: "Sun Home Saunas offers a 1-year residential limited warranty for all Eclipse, Luminar, and Pod infrared saunas," with extended warranties sold separately. The live page wouldn't load for me on October 7. Until Sun Home settles it, I count 1 year. Get the warranty terms in writing with your order.
Returns. Under the refund policy (checked October 7, 2026), a sauna can come back within 30 days only if it's unused and in its unopened packaging, with a 25% restocking fee plus shipping both ways, "even if your order was placed during a free shipping promotion." On the Sun Home Equinox 2-Person the restocking fee alone would be $1,525. Assembled saunas aren't accepted "under any circumstances".
Cancellation. Canceling costs 3% per product. For an in-stock sauna you have 24 hours; after that the order is in fulfillment and the 25% fee and freight apply.

Sun Home wins on price transparency: you can compare its cabins with anything else before talking to a salesperson. Sunlighten wins on warranty consistency: 7 years on every cabin, stated the same way everywhere. Neither takes back an opened sauna. Specs side by side: Sun Home Equinox 2-Person against Sunlighten Amplify II, or Sun Home Eclipse 2-Person against Sunlighten mPulse Believe. A third option with a lifetime warranty and plug-in models: Clearlight.
EMF claims and the FDA
Sun Home gives figures for some models: 0.5 mG for the Eclipse, under 0.5 mG for the Luminar, 0.4 mG for the blanket. None comes with a distance. For the Eclipse, the brand's blog cites a measurement by Vitatech, a lab Sun Home commissioned, so it's the brand's number, not an independent one. I found no independent measurement.
No Sun Home sauna appears in the FDA's registration or 510(k) databases, and the product pages say nothing about the FDA.
Questions people ask
How much does a Sun Home sauna cost?
During the sale I checked on Oct 8, 2026: Equinox 2-Person $6,099, Equinox 3-Person $6,999, Eclipse 2-Person $9,999, Pod 1-Person $6,599, Luminar 5 $13,899; the blanket is $499. Regular prices for these are $100 to $700 higher. The far-infrared Solstice line costs $4,999 to $7,799, and the Nova 6-Person traditional sauna $15,799.
Which sauna is better, Sun Home or Sunlighten?
Sun Home publishes every price; Sunlighten publishes 2 of 11. Sunlighten's 7-year warranty is the same on every cabin; Sun Home's warranty depends on the line and its pages disagree. Neither accepts returns of an opened sauna. The table above has the details.
Are Sun Home saunas worth it?
The Equinox is the easiest Sun Home to recommend: a listed price, a clear 7-year warranty and a 120 V 20 A circuit. The Eclipse costs more, needs an unusual 30 A outlet, and its warranty is in dispute between Sun Home's own pages, so I'd want that settled in writing first.
