HigherDOSE Red Light Face Mask review: specs, FDA clearance and who makes it
One mask, $349. The HigherDOSE mask is a plain red and near-infrared mask with an FDA clearance for wrinkles and the longest return window of any mask here, a 120-day money-back guarantee. The trade-off is 1 year of warranty against 2 years at Omnilux and CurrentBody. $349, checked Oct 8, 2026.
HigherDOSE Red Light Face Mask at a glance
Output: "claimed" is HigherDOSE's figure with no distance stated.
Verdict
It scores 9.5/10 by our method; 1 mask scores higher: full marks for FDA record, price and warranty and returns; 1.75 of 2 for published specs (only part of the specs published) and owner reviews (reviews only on the brand's own site). On specs, the gap is the output figure: it comes without a distance.
you want a cleared mask for wrinkles and you're not sure red light will do anything for you: 120 days is long enough to use it for the length of most trials and still send it back.
you want blue light for acne (it has none), 1072 nm near-infrared, or a warranty longer than a year.

Who makes it
The 510(k) was filed by Shenzhen Kaiyan Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., a Chinese maker, for "HIGHERDOSE Red and Infrared Light Mask (MK66-L)", with HigherDOSE as the distributor. The same company filed the 510(k) for the CurrentBody LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2 and holds listings under K221775, the clearance the Bon Charge Red Light Face Mask points to. The HigherDOSE file names that clearance, and Omnilux's K191629, among the devices it was found equivalent to. There was no clinical testing in the file; equivalence was enough.
So are they the same mask? The spec sheets say no:

Different LED counts, different output claims, different terms. What they share is a factory's FDA experience, which is one reason the price gap between them is hard to justify on hardware alone.
How to use the 120-day window
In the trials, wrinkle changes were measured after four weeks of sessions twice a week, and in an uncontrolled Omnilux study at 9 and 12 weeks. 120 days covers that with room to spare. To use it well:
- Take photos on day one in the same spot and light you'll use later.
- Use it on the schedule HigherDOSE gives, not more.
- Judge at around 10 to 12 weeks, and set a reminder before day 120.
- Read the policy page before you buy. For its sauna blanket, HigherDOSE's terms read "120 days money-back (legal policy: 14 days, unopened blankets only)", so the fine print can differ from the headline number.
What results in photos tend to look like is on the before and after page.

HigherDOSE is the cheapest of the three and the easiest to return; Omnilux and CurrentBody double the warranty. Full reviews: Omnilux, CurrentBody.
HigherDOSE is better known for its sauna blanket: see the HigherDOSE sauna blanket review. Its red light hat and full body mat are covered on the hair growth and red light beds pages.
What owners say
On its own site, higherdose.com, the brand shows 4.7/5 from 358 reviews. A brand controls the reviews on its own site, so I give them less weight than a marketplace with many ratings.
Questions people ask
Is the HigherDOSE red light mask good?
For what it is, yes: an FDA-cleared red and near-infrared mask at $349 with 120 days to return it, 9.5/10 by our method. Its weak points are the one-year warranty and an output figure you can't check.
Do red light face masks actually work?
Small trials found modest wrinkle changes after weeks of use; the evidence is better for acne with blue and red light, which this mask doesn't have. The studies are on the benefits page; nothing here is medical advice (medical disclaimer).
What is the highest rated red light therapy mask?
By our score, the top mark among masks is 9.75/10: Shark CryoGlow LED Face Mask (FW312). HigherDOSE scores 9.5/10. Star ratings on shop pages aren't comparable between stores, so I don't use them. The full ranking is on the masks page.
