Health Mate sauna review: Enrich 2, Enrich 3 and Inspire 2 compared on heaters, wiring and warranty

3 infrared saunas, $5,300 to $7,400. Health Mate's case is the warranty and the paperwork. The heater core is covered for life and the electronics and wood for 10 years, and it's the one brand in this price group that publishes the EMF lab report itself, with the distance it was measured at. For two people I'd pick the Health Mate Enrich 2 at $5,300, which runs off an ordinary 15 A outlet.

Skip it if you want a top temperature in writing: Health Mate doesn't publish one. Skip it too if you might change your mind. A return costs 20% of the price plus shipping both ways, and the brand's own spec pages and info sheets disagree on wattage for every model.

The Health Mate lineup

Three cabins are in our database, all in mahogany, all full-spectrum infrared. The brand site shows one price per model with no regular price next to it; until mid-October it labeled that price "Sale Price," and now it says "Special Offer Available" without a dollar amount.

Prices from healthmatesauna.com, checked Oct 27, 2026. Wattage as listed on each product page.

Health Mate Inspire 2 Smart Sauna28120 V / 15 A, 1,750 W44 × 40 in, 73 in high$7,400

The Inspire 2 costs $2,100 more than the Enrich 2 for the same two seats; the difference on the page is app control. Its inside is a little narrower and taller (44 × 40 in, 73 in high against 45 × 39.5 in, 71.5 in high). Health Mate also sells an Inspire 3 and a four-seat Elevated Health, which aren't in our database yet.

Heaters: Tecoloy, TruInfra and the NIR panel

Every model mixes three heater types. Tecoloy Dual-Wave panels on the walls and under the bench give far and mid infrared; TruInfra carbon heaters on the floor and at the lower back are far infrared only; a near-infrared LED panel adds the third band. The Enrich 2 and Inspire 2 have 8 heaters by the page text, the Enrich 3 has 10.

Two numbers are missing. Health Mate doesn't state the LED panel's wavelength, and it gives no maximum temperature, only that "most users find 120-140°F comfortable" and a 20–30 minute preheat. If you're comparing against a cabin that lists 150°F or more, you're comparing a spec to a silence. The three bands are explained in our infrared sauna guide.

What the EMF report measured

Health Mate links a Vitatech report dated October 19, 2018: 2.66 mG RMS at 2 inches from a heater's surface, measured over 30–1000 Hz. Most brands in this group print a milligauss figure with no distance, or no figure at all, so a number with a distance and a lab name is worth something.

Know what it is, though. The brand commissioned it, it covers a heater rather than a whole cabin with you sitting in it, and it's eight years older than the current Enrich and Inspire pages. I haven't seen an independent measurement of these models. What EMF at this level does or doesn't do to people is outside what this page can answer.

Wiring: one outlet, but check which one

By the product pages, the Health Mate Enrich 2 and Health Mate Inspire 2 Smart Sauna plug into a standard 15 A household outlet (NEMA 5-15P), and the Health Mate Enrich 3 needs a 120 V 20 A outlet (NEMA 5-20P). No 240 V line is needed for any of them.

The info sheets don't match. The Enrich 2 page says 1,780 W and its sheet 1,810 W; the Enrich 3 says 2,205 W against 2,110 W. The Inspire 2 is the real problem: 1,750 W and a NEMA 5-15P plug on the page, 2,205 W and a NEMA 5-20P plug on the sheet. A 5-20 plug doesn't fit a 15 A outlet. Ask Health Mate which plug ships before you order, and have a licensed electrician check the circuit.

Warranty and returns

All 3 saunas
30 days · Lifetime
20% restocking; buyer pays return shipping.

The residential warranty is the same on all three: lifetime on heater core, harness and wiring, 10 years electronics, controls, lighting, audio, 10 years wood. Delivery is free to the curb in the US and Canada.

Returns are where Health Mate gets expensive. You have 30 business days from delivery, the sauna has to be like new in its original packaging, you need an RMA, you pay return shipping, and Health Mate keeps 20% plus the original shipping cost, free-shipping promotions included (shipping and returns page). On the Health Mate Enrich 2 the restocking fee alone is $1,060, before freight.

Health Mate vs JNH vs Dynamic

The two-seaters from JNH and Dynamic cost far less. What the extra money buys is mostly warranty and EMF paperwork:

Health Mate is the only one of the three with near infrared in its two-seater. If far infrared alone is fine with you, JNH and Dynamic are reviewed separately.

Questions people ask

How much are Health Mate saunas?

On healthmatesauna.com: Health Mate Enrich 2 $5,300, Health Mate Enrich 3 $5,900, Health Mate Inspire 2 Smart Sauna $7,400, checked Oct 27, 2026. No regular price is shown next to any of them, and the site hints at a "Special Offer" without a figure, so the price may change.

What is the difference between far infrared and near infrared heat?

They're different wavelength bands: near infrared is the shorter one, next to visible red light, and far infrared the longer one that carbon panels give off. Health Mate uses both: carbon and Tecoloy panels for far and mid infrared, an LED panel for near infrared. More on infrared saunas.

Are hybrid saunas good?

Health Mate doesn't sell one: all three models here are infrared only. A hybrid adds an electric rock heater to an infrared cabin; Golden Designs makes several, covered in the Dynamic review.

What is the healthiest type of infrared sauna?

No study I know of compares types of home infrared sauna head to head. Most infrared research is Japanese "Waon" therapy: far infrared at 60°C (140°F) for 15 minutes, in patients with heart failure (Tei 2016, 149 patients). That's a clinical protocol, not a verdict on any cabin. What studies show so far is on infrared sauna benefits; see also our medical disclaimer.
